Founders

Our story begins when a young Brazilian moved to San Diego to study English and fell in love with her student adviser. Besides the love that they shared for each other, they also soon realized their mutual love for travel and adventure. Derek and Juli both studied internationally in countries like Spain, Australia, Colombia, and throughout the United States. They enjoyed immersing themselves into new cultures but felt there was a lack of community within the students studying abroad. They wanted to meet friends, go to parties, partake on excursions, and do everything else international students seek.

 

Eventually Derek and Juli married and moved to San Diego. They both left their careers to start a new company called San Diego Experiences. Through this company Derek and Juli will start a community for international students that will create friendships by hosting parties, organizing trips and offering activities all around San Diego. They strongly believe that studying in another country is more than just attending class, it’s a cultural experience!
